Stargazer Rada Pinot Meunier & Pinot Noir 2024 from Tasmania’s Coal River Valley is a mid-bodied, bright red blend primarily of Pinot Meunier (50%) and Pinot Noir (44%) with a small addition of Gamay (6%). The wine shows a vibrant bouquet of red berries, dried cranberry, rosehip tea, and red fruits with distinct savory, earthy spice from the Meunier component including notes of pepper, liquorice, sage, and chamomile. On the palate, it is fresh and lively with fine-grained tannins, crisp natural acidity, and flavors of cherry, pomegranate, and dried citrus rind. The wine was scored 94 points by Dave Brookes in the Halliday Wine Companion, praised for its balance, spice, and refreshing energy. It pairs well with charcuterie and lighter meats and is crafted with minimal intervention, aged for 6 months in old French oak puncheons with around 16% whole bunch fermentation.
