oonfish Pinot Noir, Denmark WA – Because sometimes great things happen when you’re out of your element!
This wine is a blend of several blocks of Pinot (clones D5V12, 114, 115 and 777) growing in two vineyards in the cool-climate, maritime region of Denmark in Western Australia.
The first vineyard, planted in 1988 is the slightly warmer site of the two and is complemented by the higher altitude vineyards, planted in 1995, with sweeping views over William Bay and the imposing Southern Ocean.
Bright red in colour it has a distinct red cherry and plum flavours with five spice, and fine grain silky tannins. It’s a soft, yet structured Pinot Noir with 5% whole bunched that is an excellent ‘food wine’.
