Metala William Formby Shiraz is made by Metala Wines in Langhorne Creek, South Australia, from select vineyard blocks hand-managed and separately vinified. The bouquet is dense and inky, with black cherry liqueur and liquorice lifted by earthy leather, vanillin oak and mocha spice. On the palate it is rich, heavy and plush, showing lavish blackberry and liquorice fruits wrapped in oak, with ripe, chewy tannins and a long opulent aftertaste. At 14.5% ABV, cork-sealed and vegan-friendly. 94/100 – this wine drinks beautifully now but also offers short-term cellar interest.
